Make sure the modem is connected to the unit and that both the unit and the modem have a working power supply.

Click Start and select Programs.
|

Double click the Communications Icon, this will open the Communications folder.
|

Double click the Remote Networking icon.
|
| |
|
| |
Double click Make New Connection icon.
|
| |

Enter a name for the new connection. We suggest using Demon Internet. Make sure the connection type is set to dial-up Connection.
Click Next.

Windows CE should detect your modem, if not select the modem and port from the list available. Use the standard modem if your modem is not listed. Enter the access telephone number for Demon Internet.
See our Access Numbers guide. Place a tick in the box marked Use Country code and Area code.
Click Next.

Leave Manual dial and the two options in Terminals unticked. Set the correct Baud Rate for your modem, as the screen shot above shows we selected 19200. Data bits should be set to 8, Parity to None, Stop bits to 1 and finally set the Flow control to Hardware. These should be the default settings.
Click Call Options.

These settings can be left as the default.
Click Ok.
Click TCP/IP Settings.

Here you can leave everything set to Server Assigned.
Click Ok.
If you want to put the settings in however, see the screenshot below.

Untick Server Assigned and enter your IP address in the space provided. Note: If you do not know your IP address, connect to Demon, open a command prompt and ping your hostname. Untick Server-assigned name server addresses. In the Primary DNS: enter 158.152.1.58. In the Secondary DNS: enter 158.152.1.43. Primary and Secondary Wins stay as 0's. Click Ok.

Double click the Demon Icon.

Make sure the Save Password box is ticked, or you will have to type your password each time you connect.

Above is the status screen. It gives the option of canceling the connection or hiding the screen altogether.
|

Now the status screen should show the number being dialed.
|
| |
|
| |
Then the status screen will inform you when you are connected.
|
| |
|
| |
And finally that you are authenticated on the Demon connection.
