Pegasus eMail

Start off the installation by double-clicking the install.exe file.

The first screen informs you of the software version and possible operating systems Pegasus will work on. Click Next.

The above screen informs the user of the licensing options.
Click Next.

Select the directory you wish to install to. If you do not wish to install to the default directory, click on the Browse button to find a suitable directory, or a directory you have created for Pegasus.
Click Next.

Select the components you require, the above screen shot shows the default settings for a Windows based installation.
Click Next.

The above dialog shows the program group that will be entered into the start menu.

Click Next.

Click Next to continue installation.

Once the installation is complete, click Finish.

The next task is to set up the mail boxes. Choose from the following options:

The first is if there is only one user going to use Pegasus.

The second is if there is more than one user, or if you have more than one email address.

The third is if Pegasus is going to be used by several people over a network.

Choose the option that best describes your situation. We have opted for the single user option.

Next, Pegasus needs to know where to store mail related files. Above is the default directory. If you do not wish to use this you will need to enter a path to the store directory where you want to keep the files.

Once this is done, click OK.

Now we are ready to start setting up the Internet mail to enable you to send and receive your email.

Click Next.

The first entry is your email address.
This is in the form username@hostname.demon.co.uk

Click Next.

Next Pegasus requires the POP3 server name. This is pop3.demon.co.uk.
Click Next.

Now it's time to enter your hostname and password.
Although it is asking for your username, you actually have to enter your Demon hostname.
Then enter your POP3 or logon password.

Click Next.

Next, Pegasus asks for the SMTP server name. This is post.demon.co.uk.
Click Next.

Finally Pegasus needs to know how you connect to the internet. We have selected Dialup.

Click Next.

The last screen of the setup process explains that you can change any of the information you have entered at any time.

You can do this by clicking on the File menu and selecting Network configuration.

Please see the screen shots. Click Finish.

You should now be presented with something similar to the screen shot above. You are now ready to start using Pegasus mail.

To change any of the previously entered settings:
Click on File and select Network configuration or Tools | Internet options.

Under the General tab you can change your email address and the timeout setting.

Click OK to submit the changes.

Under the Receiving (POP3) tab, you can change the POP3 server name, username and password, port number and many other options.

Click OK to submit the changes.

Under the Dialling tab you can change the manner in which you connect to the internet.
