Microsoft Outlook 98 eMail ( Note: This software is not supported by the Demon Helpdesk ). Please see our Important Notice, we recommend that you read it before you proceed. Follow these easy steps to configure Outlook 98
Open Outlook 98 Click Tools
As you can see above,
Enter your name See our Names & Password Conventions guide. Click Next
Enter your email address
Choose POP3 from the mail server dropdown box. Enter the Incoming mail (POP3) Server as pop3.demon.co.uk Enter the Outgoing mail (SMTP) Server as post.demon.co.uk
In POP account name enter your hostname In Password enter your POP3 password
Choose the option for connection - usually Connect using my phone line Connect using my phone line will cause Outlook 98 to automatically dial out and connect to Demon. Connect using my Local Area Network will connect using an existing LAN (Local Area Network) connection. I will establish my internet connection manually, means that you will have to dial in to Demon yourself before Starting Outlook 98. Click OK
Select the Dialup Networking connection to Demon Click Next and then Finish At this point, if you are not using a domain name, you can click Close and test your new account by clicking on Send and Receive. If you have registered a domain name, make sure the Demon account is highlighted and click Properties.
In the Reply address box type your domain name, click OK, then click Close.
