Microsoft Outlook Express 6 eMail

Setting up a Mail Account

If you have another version of Outlook Express, or a different email client altogether, click here.

If it is the first time you have run Outlook Express on this computer, you will be prompted for your email settings immediately.

Click on Tools and choose Accounts.

Click on the Add button. Then click on the Mail option. This will start the Internet Connection Wizard to set up your new email account.

Type your full name in the the text box and then click Next.

Type your email address into the text box in the form:

username@hostname.demon.co.uk, this must all be in lower case.

If you have a domain, type your domain email address here instead of your Demon one.

Click Next.

In the Incoming mail (POP3…) field type pop3.demon.co.uk
In the Outgoing mail (SMTP)… field type post.demon.co.uk
Then click Next.

In the Account Name field type your Demon Internet hostname (Account Name).
In the Password field type your logon or POP3 password (if you have one).

If you do not wish to type in your password every time you check your mail, click in the box to Remember password.

You have now completed setting up your email account.
Click Finish.

Click on Close in the Internet Accounts window.

Now you can click Send & Recv to test your new account once you are connected to the internet.
