Ka9Q eMail ( Note: This software is not supported by the Demon Helpdesk ). Please see our Important Notice, we recommend that you read it before you proceed. To configure KA9Q follow these simple steps.
Press D. Configure Net
Press option A. Configure Autoexec.net and Dialer
In the section marked Node name enter your hostname See our Names & Password Conventions guide. In the section marked Your IP Address enter your Demon IP Address Select the correct Com port for your modem. Press F5 to configure the dialer.
In the String section enter ATZ or AT&F (depending on your modem) For dial command enter ATDT Enter the number of attempts you wish to dial. In the event of the number being busy. In the password section enter your Demon Login Password And finally enter for Prompt send: PPP
Press Esc (Escape)
We will now configure the News settings.
Press A.
In the User Name field enter Your Demon hostname See our Names & Password Conventions guide. In the Full name field enter Your Name.
We will now configure Email.
In the top User name field enter your username. The next field down is for your Demon hostname, enter your hostname. For the Full user name enter Your Name. Next is your reply to address enter your reply to address. See our Names & Password Conventions guide. Enter the name of your prefered text editor in the field supplied. Make sure the printer is set to the right port and then press F3 to update and save the settings. Now press Esc to return to the main screen. KA9Q is now set up to connect to Demon Internet and use the mail and news services.
