How to setup and connect to Macintosh Remote Access

Note: Customers wishing to have unmetered access in conjunction with BT Surftime should use the appropriate G5 number shown on our  access number page.

Click on the Apple menu, choose Control Panel and then Remote Access.

Enter your hostname in the name field. This must be in lower case, and your logon password in the password field. This is case sensitive. Then enter the number to dial. Standard Dial up and Premier Connect Plus customers can see our Access Numbers guide for a complete list covering BT and non-BT lines.

Click Options.

Click on Connection.

Make sure that the box for Flash icon in menu bar while connected and Disconnect if idle for... is checked.

Click on Protocol.

Check the Connect automatically…, Allow error correction and Use TCP header… check boxes.

Click OK.
