How to setup and connect to FreePPP Setup Please see our Important Notice, we recommend that you read it before you proceed. Note: Customers wishing to have unmetered access in conjunction with BT Surftime should use the appropriate G5 number shown on our access number page. When FreePPP 2.6 is installed and the Macintosh has been restarted, you should have a phone icon on the tool menu as follows:
Click the phone icon to bring up the following selections:
Once you choose Open FreePPP setup..., you will be presented with the following window;
On this window you have the general connection choices to make, you can also navigate to all the other windows in the FreePPP setup. Click on ACCOUNTS to edit the account status.
Here you can Create / Edit / Duplicate and Delete your Accounts. Select New and you will be required to fill in the following information: Accounts Tab

There are two options that allow you to (dial area code) & (dial long distance) - it is your choice as to whether you use them or not. Options
Once you have input all the necessary information, press OK and you will return to the main setup window. Select Modems to configure the Speed and Flow Control setup
If you select the New button you will be required to fill in the following modem information that is specific to your type of hardware. Below is an example setup for a Supra modem configuration.
With regards to the Modem init string settings, you would usually be advised to select autodetect, however, some modems do require initialisation strings. See our Modem Initialisation String Guide for more information.
