Planned Maintenance We will be carrying out planned maintenance on our Web Hosting Platforms as follows:
At this time we will be upgrading the MySQL database service. This will affect the following products:
Dial-up and Homepages are however unaffected. For a brief period during this work, MySQL databases will not function. However, web pages and PHP scripts that do not make calls on MySQL will continue to be served normally. The reason for this maintenance work is to allow us to improve stability of the MySQL database service. We will upgrade MySQL 4 database service from 4.0.17 to 4.0.30, the latest version on that code branch. Customers should note that scripts written specifically to account for bugs in the current MySQL version 4.0.17 may not operate as required following the upgrade, although this is unlikely. We recommend that customers using MySQL on these products back up their hosted database by following the instructions shown at: http://www.demon.net/helpdesk/technicallibrary/webhosting/backupmysql before the above date. Web space bundled with Broadband, Demon Virtual Server and Showroom hosting services will not be affected by this maintenance. We regret any inconvenience this essential work causes to our customers.
