THUS provides Granada with new connectivity for interactive programming on Sky digital 29 October, 2003 - THUS plc, one of the UK's leading providers of voice, data, Internet and contact centre services, has been chosen to connect Granada Interactive to BSkyB's market-leading interactive TV platform. THUS has provided Granada Interactive with high capacity connectivity between its interactive platform and BSkyB's. The implementation was simplified because THUS had existing infrastructure at BSkyB's premises and at Granada Interactive's hosting location. "Moving into interactive programming is an important step for us. We chose to work first with BSkyB and wanted to ensure a strong connection between the two networks, THUS was the obvious choice to provide and support this," said Stephen Knights, Infrastructure Manager, Granada Interactive. "The fact that THUS was so closely involved in the development of BSkyB's platform and has continued to work with BSkyB on a whole range of interactive services made it ideal. THUS's flexible approach and ability to provision the service quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively was an added bonus." "Interactive TV is an exciting area to be involved with. Programme developers are coming up with new ideas every day and our role is to apply technology to make their visions a reality. This is good for the programme makers, good for the broadcasters and great for viewers, who can enjoy all sorts of exciting new shows," commented Phil Male, Chief Operating Officer, THUS plc. "At THUS we have a solid grounding in interactive TV applications thanks to our relationship with BSkyB and we are very pleased to build on this through our relationship with Granada Interactive." |
