THUS manages premium rate minutes for Greenland Interactive THUS plc, one of the UK's leading providers of voice, data, Internet and contact centre services, today announced that it has been chosen by Greenland Interactive, a major provider of contact management solutions, to provide premium rate termination services and to host its interactive voice response (IVR) platform. Greenland Interactive is one of the UK's top five providers of premium rate IVR lines, enabling its customers to deliver a range of interactive services such as voting; competitions; and information and entertainment lines. Premium rate telephony is a significant market in the UK - according to ICSTIS, the UK's regulatory body for premium rate services, around 30,000 premium rate services are in operation at any one time, generating an estimated revenue of £1 billion in 2002. The contract with Greenland Interactive will see THUS managing all of Greenland Interactive's premium rate minutes per year on several thousand numbers across its network. In addition, THUS will host Greenland Interactives's premium rate IVR platform, providing Internet access to create a virtual private network (VPN) between Greenland Interactive's offices and THUS's data centre. "We help companies interact with their customers in creative ways across a whole range of media. Premium rate IVR is important as it is an ideal mechanism for exciting direct marketing campaigns and revenue-generating services," explained Andy McInally, Managing Director, Greenland Interactive. "Our clients want us to be flexible, creative and reliable. To achieve that, we need to work from a solid foundation. We chose to work with THUS because of the quality of its network and because we are confident that it will match our required high standards." "Premium rate IVR is growing fast in the UK and Greenland Interactive is an important player in the market. Our relationship with Greenland Interactive will allow us to benefit from the increasing demand for interactive services, both for marketing applications and new revenue-generating services," said Phil Male, Chief Operating Officer, THUS plc. |
