BBC's ISP redesigned and relaunched BBC Worldwide extends relationship with THUS as it relaunches the ISP beeb.net with unmetered services BBC Worldwide's successful Internet Service Provider (ISP), beeb.net, has been redesigned to accommodate a range of new services, and relaunched following an extension to the agreement between the BBC's consumer-focussed commercial arm and THUS plc. The updated beeb.net now offers unmetered ISP services alongside its highly regarded pay-as-you-go service [see notes to editors for details]. The ISP is managed by BBC Worldwide in conjunction with THUS plc. THUS worked closely with BBC Worldwide to design, build, project manage, and deliver a completely new and augmented ISP service. This service includes not only the addition of a number of new features within the existing metered product, but also includes the launch of an unmetered flat rate Internet access option. THUS was able to strategically and tactically work with BBC Worldwide in order to deliver the full service wrap of platform, billing, and helpdesk services within short timescales and in time for a pre-Christmas launch. Phil Male, Chief Operating Officer at THUS plc said: "With more than 10 years experience as one of the UK's leading ISPs, we know what people are looking for from their Internet service provider and we have worked with the BBC over the past three years to provide an unrivalled Internet service for its customers." Jon Phillips, BBC Worldwide's Manager of beeb.net, said: "We have worked hard with THUS to develop services that provide customers with a range of options to suit their surfing habits. In addition, it's important for us to maintain the exceptional level of speed, security and reliability that existing customers - as well as the industry - have come to expect from this BBC service. "Our association with THUS, and the development of beeb.net continues, and so I expect to be announcing further ISP services in the coming months." |
