THUS PLC, one of the UK's leading providers of voice, data, Internet and call centre services, today announces the appointment of Ian Hood as Director of Corporate Communications.

Ian previously ran his own corporate communications consultancy, IHCC, and has worked for a variety of clients in the telecoms and technology sectors including Dell, Sit-up TV, Telewest and THUS.

He worked with THUS on its flotation in 1999 and, more recently, has advised the company on investor relations, working with Smithfield Financial, THUS's retained financial public relations and investor relations consultancy.

Ian was formerly Director of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations with Telewest, the UK's largest cable company where he was employed from 1993 to 1999. He was responsible for managing the company's communications programmes with the media, analyst and investor community.

Prior to this, he worked for Union Railways, managing public consultation programmes in connection with the proposed Channel Tunnel Rail Link.
