Demon is watching Big Brother

Heavyweight ISP hooks up with Big Brother to provide the UK’s biggest ever Netcast

Demon Internet, a brand of Thus, is providing hosting for 10,000 streams to the Big Brother site. This, along with BT and Freeserve, makes it the biggest ever UK Netcast.

On for 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for nine weeks, the broadcast will also be the longest that has ever gone live over the Web in the UK.

"We have had the capability to do this size project for some time now, but have never had the opportunity. The whole thing, on our side, was set up in six days, which is quite an achievement," said Steve Kennedy, head of technology futures at Thus. "Now we know we have the expertise, we’re looking at undertaking similar projects of this scale in the near future."

"We needed to work with companies we could trust to get the technical side of this venture set up quickly and efficiently. Demon Internet came out on top for the quality and expertise that we were after," said Chris Short, content manager for the Web site at Bazal, the production company for Big Brother. "So far we have received excellent customer service from Demon and the speed with which it had things up and running was astounding."
