Press release 26/07/2000
Demon Tops UK ISP Customer Satisfaction Study Demon, the Internet Service Provider for SMEs and the residential market, has been ranked #1 ISP in the latest UK independent customer satisfaction study. Thus plc's Internet brand Demon topped the 'J.D. Power and Associates 2000 UK Residential Internet Service Provider Customer Satisfaction Study', conducted by the US-based global marketing information firm. Other ISPs included in the study were LineOne, VirginNet, Freeserve, BT Internet and AOL, among others. More than 1,800 households containing Internet users were questioned on the performance of their ISP in order to get the study results. According to the study, Demon's strength is in its connection speed/access to the Internet, the top driver of customer satisfaction. Demon also excels in customer service and e-mail services. "We have invested over £110 million since last year in improving and extending our network, to increase the range of services we can offer our customers. This study demonstrates the success of that considerable investment and our commitment to quality," said Cynthia Gordon, brand marketing director at Thus plc. "Demon differentiates itself by the functionality that it builds into its services and the fact that quality is always the main consideration. Our customers are the most regular internet users and are depending on the service to support their business or to keep in contact with their family. It needs to work first time, every time."
